Ensure Public Safety

Supporting the men and women of our fire and police departments is key to our safety. Effective traffic management and additional bicycle lanes would also contribute to our safety.

Improve Our Infrastructure

Overall traffic flow and safety will be important including improvements to 69 Highway and the interchange at 69 Highway and 135th Street.

Common Sense Economic Growth

If we aren’t growing, then we are actually in a state of decline. No one wants that. What we “do” want is smart, informed growth that makes sense for Overland Park. Leaders who listen and apply common sense can help make that happen.

Embrace Our Quality of Life

Local people always say, “We don’t have mountains or a beach, but a lot of little things add up to make this a great place to live.” We need to pay attention to all of those little things to ensure we remain one of the best places to live and work anywhere.

A message to my neighbors:

My name is Phil Bressler and I’m running to be your city council representative.

The city of Overland Park has received many accolades over the years. But we can’t rest on our laurels. To ensure our great quality of life for generations to come, strong leadership is required. To that end, I would act from my personal philosophies - doing the right thing, listening to both sides of every situation, treating everyone with respect, and making common sense decisions based on the facts at hand.

Thanks to my parents and even my grandparents, the importance of serving others was instilled in me a long time ago. My son Ryan served in the U.S. Army, and he, along with the dedicated men and women with whom he served, have motivated me to give back to our community.

It would be an honor and a privilege to serve you and the great neighborhoods and businesses in Ward 5 on the Overland Park City Council. Please contact me at (913) 302-7577 or phil@bressler4OP.com with any questions or comments. I would very much appreciate your vote on November 5.
